Your Crystal Straw is made from sturdy, lab-grade borosilicate glass that’s designed for everyday use and beautifully clear in the glass.
Each gemstone is ethically sourced, handpicked and completely untreated — no wax, no oils, just the stone as nature made it. Our gemstones are also GKS certified, so you can feel good about what you’re bringing to the table.
Your Crystal Straw comes with its own bamboo case, a soft cotton pouch for the gemstone and a plastic-free cleaning brush made from stainless steel and coconut fiber.

How does the gemstone in the Crystal Straw work?
The Crystal Straw uses what crystal-healing literature describes as the direct method: the gemstone comes into direct contact with the water or beverage.
Gemstones have been used in traditional and holistic practices for centuries and are believed to carry their own subtle energetic qualities. The Crystal Straw lets you experience this idea in its simplest form—your drink flows directly around the genuine gemstone as you sip.
Why do the gemstones touch the water when other VitaJuwel products keep them sealed inside glass?
Our ViA bottles, decanters, and dispensers use the classical VitaJuwel method, with carefully composed gemstone blends sealed hygienically inside glass. This remains our preferred method for preparing the full VitaJuwel Crystal Water experience.
For a slim, practical drinking straw, however, this construction simply isn’t possible without compromising usability. We therefore created the Crystal Straw around the traditional direct method and selected only gemstones specifically suited for contact with drinking water.
It’s a different VitaJuwel experience, designed for a different purpose: spontaneous, versatile, and made to go wherever your drink takes you.
Are the gemstones safe to have directly in my drink?
Yes. This was one of our most important considerations when developing the Crystal Straw.
Every gemstone is genuine, hand-selected, and suitable for direct contact with drinking water. Unlike many gemstones sold primarily for decorative purposes, ours are unwaxed, unoiled, and free from artificial coatings.
We have worked closely with our trusted gemstone supplier for many years and source our stones responsibly with strict attention to authenticity and quality.
Are the gemstones real?
Absolutely. No synthetic imitations, dyed substitutes, or artificially enhanced stones.
Our gemstones have been independently examined by the German EPI – Institut für Edelsteinprüfung and comply with recognized gemstone and mineral quality standards including RAL RG 560, CIBJO, and GKS guidelines.
And because they are natural, no two stones look exactly alike. Differences in color, pattern, texture, and shape are part of their authenticity.
Why are there seven different Crystal Straws?
We created the collection around the seven chakras, with one gemstone corresponding to each energy center.
Amethyst represents the Crown Chakra, Tourmaline Quartz the Third Eye, Sodalite the Throat Chakra, Aventurine the Heart Chakra, Orange Calcite the Solar Plexus Chakra, Carnelian the Sacral Chakra, and Red Jasper the Root Chakra.

Are VitaJuwel Crystal Straws plastic-free?
Yes—and we mean the whole concept, not just the straw.
The straw is made from borosilicate glass, the gemstone is natural, the carry case is bamboo, and the included cleaning brush is made from stainless steel and coconut fiber. Even the gemstone bag is cotton.
The Crystal Straw was developed from the beginning as a plastic-free and vegan reusable alternative to disposable straws.
How do I clean my Crystal Straw?
Rinse it after use and clean the inside with the included plastic-free cleaning brush. The glass straw itself is also dishwasher-safe.
For juices, smoothies, cocktails, or other drinks that may leave residue, we recommend rinsing the straw relatively soon after use rather than letting your drink dry inside it.
Because the straw is transparent, checking that it’s perfectly clean takes about two seconds.
Can I use the Crystal Straw with drinks other than water?
Absolutely—and that’s one of the reasons we created it.
Use it for sparkling water, lemonade, iced tea, juices, smoothies, mocktails, cocktails, and plenty more. It’s especially handy when you’re away from home and someone else has prepared the drink for you: at restaurants, cafés, hotels, bars, parties, or events.

Can I use the Crystal Straw with hot and cold drinks?
Yes. VitaJuwel Crystal Straws are made from high-density borosilicate glass, which is highly resistant to temperature changes and suitable for both cold and hot beverages.
Just remember that glass transfers heat. If your drink is very hot, the straw may become hot too.
